I’m really glad Cindy played that “Twitter in Plain English” video in class the other day. Not because I don’t know how to use Twitter, which some would argue is true, but because I had never heard of Common Craft. I’ve just spent the past hour going through the group’s plain English videos and, for the most part, think it’s some remarkable work.

In particular, I thought the Twitter search video was great for people who are having a hard time understanding the value of real-time news and information.

The videos are easy to understand for anyone, whether they are two or 52. In this search video, I think Common Craft truly captures the power of real-time search by breaking it down to the most simple level. Another great thing about these videos is the length. They are a few minutes long in each case – just enough information to make you understand, but not too much information to bog you down and confuse you.

Now we just need a Common Craft video to explain Justin Bieber.
